OUR STORY
To say that Chevy of Bend is part of the community is a bit of an understatement. Founded in 1916 by Walter Coombs, grandfather of Robert Thomas, this Chevy dealership is the oldest in Central Oregon, serving Bend, Madras, LaPine, Three Rivers, Redmond, Sisters, and Sun River, Oregon. It occupied seven sites in Bend prior to settling in its current location on Third Street in 1967. As Bob Thomas Chevrolet, the dealership was a vital presence in the community, building solid relationships both as an employer and as a trusted local business serving generations of families.
After 94 years in business, Chevrolet of Bend, OR joined the Lithia Motors family of auto dealerships, and the story that began with one great Oregon company continues with another. Founded in 1946 as a single Medford dealership, Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers and publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: LAD).
